Pakistan vs West Indies | Multan | 2nd ODI | 10th June 2022

I suppose it's more to ensure that you are adaptable.

It's easy to become complacent once you are set to a gameplan as we have been for some time, mixing it up and ensuring adaptability is a vital factor.

Imagine seeing your best bat on 7 (23), when he is form, question is whether it's lack of ability or whether it's lack of thinking, because bear in mind, during the T20 WC, Babar and Rizzy were criticised for running singles and doubles rather than aiming for boundaries.
Yup agree with that

However - anyone criticising Babar and Rizwan for rotating the strike doesn't understand cricket.

No one expects every ball to go to the fence - but aiming to get a single or double at least every second ball is a very reasonable expectation to have in modern day limited over cricket - specially on flat pitches like this.

NZ in the Test match Vs England currently are batting at a RR of 4.2

Pakistan on a flat pitch in an ODI Vs West Indies are batting at 4.2

Best thing about Babar and Rizwan is their strike rotation, pushing it up to 10 RPO without having to take big risks

That's why I don't buy the lack of ability argument, Babar (especially) and Rizzy showcased it in T20 WC so I think it must be more a mindset issue.

Lmao, when you put it like that.

"Another aspect Babar and Imam do well is running between the wickets. Taking away the dot balls. In the past Pakistan is a team who plays least number of dot balls" - Zainab Abbas
